The Annual Cheltenham Lady Panther Alumnae basketball game was created to raise funds for the American Cancer Society (Coaches vs. Cancer Association) in addition to regenerate interest and support for the Lady Panther Basketball legacy. All proceeds in this event go towards fighting the battle against Cancer.
The CHS Alumnae Game event benefitting cancer research raised over $3,000. The event is highlighted by a number of Division I/II collegiate athletes, girls’ youth basketball clinic conducted by Lady Panther alums, a Junior Cheltenham Panther basketball at halftime, in addition to recognizing cancer survivors with our Courage Award.
The 3rd Annual of the Cheltenham Lady Panther Alumnae Event benefitting cancer research raised over $1,000. This year’s Cheltenham Lady Panthers Alumnae ‘Coaches vs. Cancer’ Basketball Game was more than just an opportunity to reunite players from the program’s storied past for a spirited contest. It also provided a platform to honor Yolanda Roberts, a 10-year thyroid cancer survivor. In addition to the alumnae game, the event also included a girls’ youth clinic conducted by Lady Panther alums that included former collegiate players Rachel Laws (Binghamton University), Shayla Felder (Chestnut Hill College), Shanira Blake (Cheyney University), Antonia Gale (La Salle University), Brandi Butler-Mills (University of Richmond) and Lorraine Oliver (St. Francis PA). The clinic was followed by a Junior Panther basketball game, where young future Cheltenham Panthers had an opportunity to showcase their skills.
